Dillon Bera will serve as Lakeland College's interim head wrestling coach for the 2015-16 season.
Bera served as an assistant coach for the Muskies last year. He came to Lakeland after spending the previous year as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
"I am honored to lead the Lakeland College wrestling team," said Bera. "I look forward to fully committing to the Muskies as I did when I competed as a wrestler. The standards and expectations are set high and I am confident that our returners and incoming wrestlers will do great things for Lakeland. I firmly believe Lakeland College prepares students for success on and off the mat."
Bera was a four-time NCAA Division II All-American at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 2010-13. Competing at 157 lbs., his highest finish was as national runner-up and he also finished third, seventh and eighth in other trips to nationals. Bera was a two-time team captain at UW-Parkside and won over 100 college matches. He also was a two-time NCAA Academic All-American and was awarded UW-Parkside’s Male Career Achievement Award in 2013.
Bera hails from Kaukauna, Wis., and was a two-time state qualifier in high school, and was a WIAA Division 1 state champion as a senior. He also was a team captain for a Kaukauna High School team that placed second in the team state tournament.
Bera earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from UW-Parkside in the spring of 2013.
