Lakeland welcomes nationally ranked MSOE for volleyball tilt

The Lakeland University men's volleyball team is back home for the first time in more than two weeks and will host a nationally ranked team when it welcomes Milwaukee School of Engineering for a 7 p.m. start tonight at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies are home for the first time in 18 days and will play their second-to-last home match of the season. The Raiders come in ranked 15th in the latest AVCA/NCAA Division III Top 15 Coaches Poll, one of three Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference teams currently in the national ranking.

Lakeland (9-14 overall, 3-5 NACC) has been idle since a 3-1 loss to Hope International (Calif.) nine days ago in the final match of the team's California spring break trip. Dakota Hunter tied a career high with 19 kills and hit .500 for the match while also adding 11 digs. Desmond Williams also totaled eight kills and six blocks, Cameron Ekum added 19 assists plus 10 digs and J.T. Levitt finished with 16 digs.
MSOE (11-5 overall, 8-2 NACC) cruised to a three-set sweep of Nazareth (N.Y.) last time out on Friday at home. The Raiders hit a superb .370 for the match with 48 kills and just 14 errors. Jake Christensen and Sam Stealey both posted 12 kills each and Andrew Miller notched 35 assists.

This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams, as MSOE won the first in five sets on Feb. 28 in Milwaukee. Hunter finished with team highs of 12 kills and 18 digs for the Muskies, while Bryant Holland led the Raiders with 13 kills and 16 digs.
