Chris Thousand hit the biggest home run in the history of the Lakeland baseball program, sending the Muskies to the NCAA Division III College World Series for the first time in the school's history with a game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat UW-Stevens Point. Thousand helped the team finish fifth in the CWS to conclude his four-year career. He was a dual threat on the field as a hitter and pitcher and was named All-Lake Michigan Conference three times, including first team all-conference his junior and senior years.
