Tesfa Smith is one of the most decorated defensive players in Lakleand football history. A two-time Illini-Badger Football Conference Player of the Year and All-IBFC first-team honoree, Smith amassed 286 (164 solo, 122 assisted) tackles in his career, including 24 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and five fumble recoveries. Smith has spent the two decades since the end of his playing career as a college football coach and is currently defensive line coach at Division II Ferris State University.
