Lakeland University senior quarterback Robby Michael (Sr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) continue to put up huge individual numbers this season and in his career, and this week took over the top spot in total offense in all of NCAA football.

Michael is averaging 410.4 yards of total offense (yards passing and rushing) per game, ahead of NCAA Division III second-place Kaleb Blaha of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (399.9 yards/game). Michael's total also is the best of any player in all four levels of NCAA football-Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II and III.

Michael is closing out one of the most prolific careers in Lakeland football history with some of his best numbers yet. This year he has completed 161 of 301 passes for 2,232 yards and 17 touchdowns with just four interceptions, averaging 318.9 yards passing per game. He also has rushed 178 times for a team-best 641 yards and nine touchdowns.

In addition to leading Division III in total offense, Michael also is fifth in D-III in points responsible for (points involved in rushing and passing) with 162 and points responsible for/game (23.1). He ranks eighth nationally in passing yards per game and ninth in total passing yards, 15th in completions/game (23.0), 28th in rushing touchdowns and 32nd in passing touchdowns. He also is in the top 50 in the country in rushing yards, including 44th in total rushing yards and 45th in rushing yards/game (91.6).

Michael is on the doorstep of breaking Lakeland's career record for total offense, as he enters Saturday's game against Concordia University Chicago with 10,781 yards. His total is third behind Michael Whitley in second (10,915 yards from 2014-17) and he is 187 yards from breaking Mark Novara's record of 10,975 yards set from 1994-97.

Michael also is second in school history in career rushing yards (3,322), third in passing yards (7,459), completions (573) and attempts (1,099), tied for fifth in passing touchdowns (56) and sixth in touchdowns scored (36) and points scored (216).

Lakeland is back home this coming Saturday to face Concordia Chicago at 1 p.m. at John Taylor Memorial Field.
