Mitchell Fucile (Jr.-Chilton, Wis.) fought to a solid fourth-place finish in his weight class to lead the Lakeland College wrestling team at the prestigious Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College, which concluded Saturday.

Fucile was seeded eighth at 165 pounds but won his first two matches to get to the quarterfinals. The was defeated there by top seed and eventual champion Nick Fishback of UW-Parkside but then won twice more in the wrestleback portion before an 8-2 loss to second-seeded Tommy Gerszewski of UW-Whitewater in the third-place match.

Fucile's wins included three decisions-including a narrow 5-4 win over seventh-seeded Derek Weinmann of UW-La Crosse-plus a win by technical fall over Tristan Wilson of Manchester (Ind.) University. He helped lead the Muskies to a tie for 23rd place among 32 squads in the team standings with 18.5 points.
