Julie Steinert is in her first year serving as co-head coach of the Lakeland men’s and women’s cross country teams. Steinert and Pete Barth were named co-coaches of the program in April 2017.
Steinert is taking on her first collegiate head coaching job, and she also serves as Lakeland's senior director of advancement.
Steinert was a track and cross country athlete in high school, where she won 11 letters at Oshkosh West High School in those two sports plus cheerleading. She earned a track & field scholarship to Marquette University and competed collegiately there for four years. She also is the daughter of Dr. Ronald Akin, who is a former track & field and men's basketball coach at UW-Oshkosh and a member of that school's athletics hall of fame.
