Lakeland drops 1-0 heartbreaker

SHEBOYGAN - The Lakeland women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran in a Northern Athletics Conference match on Homecoming Saturday at Lakeland.

The Muskies (2-11 overall, 1-6 NAC) created several offensive chances, but were unable to find the back of the net. Lakeland out-shot the Warriors (4-10, 2-6) 15-5 in the game.

Wisconsin Lutheran's Meta Kolander scored on a rebound in the 60th minute, a goal that proved to be the game-winner.

Lakeland sophomore Kristina Borts (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished with five shots, all on goal, while sophomore Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan, Wis.) and freshman Hannah Landgraf (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) tallied three shots apiece.

Junior goalkeeper Whitney England (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) saved a pair of shots for the Muskies.

Lakeland heads to Milwaukee, Wis., on Wednesday to take on MSOE at 7 p.m.
