Due to a cold spell in early January that resulted in the postponement of their first meeting, Lakeland College and Rockford University will meet for the second time in six days when they square off in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference men's basketball tilt Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies (12-8 overall, 8-7 NACC) are coming off another tough setback Tuesday night in the form of an 84-79 loss to Concordia Wisconsin. Lakeland cut an 18-point second half deficit to three and had a shot to tie in the final seconds, but an open three-point attempt rattled in and out. Kurt Jansen (Sr.-Wrightstown, Wis.) scored a career-high 20 points and Joey Burris (Sr.-Kiel, Wis.) added 19, including 15 in the second half.

The Regents defeated the Muskies just five days ago, winning 79-73 in northern Illinois. Rockford has won three in a row in all, including an impressive 86-77 win over NACC-leading Aurora on Tuesday. Zach Wallace scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead four Regents scoring in double figures.

Tonight's game is a makeup date for a contest originally scheduled to be played on Jan. 7 but was postponed due to extreme cold and the closure of the Rockford campus that day.
