DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Lakeland College women's volleyball team won one match but otherwise was frustrated in its attempts to win close matches this weekend at the IIAC-NACC Challenge, hosted by Loras (Iowa) College.

The Muskies defeated the University of Dubuque 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-15 on Friday but were defeated by Luther (Iowa) College in three sets on Friday (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) and lost four-set matches to Simpson (Iowa) College (25-20, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20) and Loras (18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-17) on Saturday. The events were part of the crossover weekend between schools from the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

Lakeland's best result came Friday in the win over Dubuque. Allison Errthum (So.-Joliet, Ill.), Hannah Scherer (Fr.-Chillicothe, Ill.) and Kathy Flanagan (Jr.-Midlothian, Ill.) combined for 32 kills with just 11 errors, while Caleigh Galvan (Sr.-New Lenox, Ill.) led the defense with 29 digs and paced a group of five players in double figures in digs.

Errthum led the team on the weekend with 39 kills, with Scherer totaling 35 and Flanagan adding 34 plus a team-high nine blocks. Taylor Levitt (Jr.-Schaumburg, Ill.) finished with 138 assists, while Galvan added 112 digs, going over 2,000 digs for her career.
