BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Bradley Stoeckel (Fr.-Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) made eight saves in his first start in goal but the Lakeland University lost a 4-0 decision to Illinois Wesleyan University Sunday evening.

Stoeckel made four saves in each half but the Titans got through for two goals in each half to pull away. The Muskies dropped to 0-2 this year, while Illinois Wesleyan is now 2-0.

Four different players tallied goals for IWU. Ryan Kaplan started the scoring in the 14th minute with his second goal of the season, and Doug Ballard gave the hosts some breathing room with an unassisted goal in the 37th minute.

Joey Delbert scored for the Titans just over 15 minutes into the second half to make it 3-0. Kobe Carreno added a final goal with 6:35 left in the match.

The Muskies had some chances, especially in the second half, when they fired seven of their 11 shot attempts. Renan Asato (Sr.-Sao Paolo, Brazil) finished with six shots attempts, including three on goal, while both Charles Apostolik (So.-New Castle, Colo.) and Josh Hogan (So.-Urbana, Ill.) both added two shots each.
