RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Five players scored in double figures and the Lakeland University men's basketball team moved to 3-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference by holding on for a 95-92 win over Concordia University Chicago Wednesday night at Geiseman Gymnasium.
Jequan Pegeese (

Concordia had two chances to tie but the Muskies got stops with a turnover and a missed layup, and Lakeland then hit seven straight free throws in the final minute. Pegeese did miss the second of two shots with six seconds left, though, and the Cougars had a chance to tie but Israel Dosie's triple with three seconds left bounced away.
The first half was close with seven ties and 11 lead changes in the first 10 minutes. Lakeland took the lead for good on a short jumper by
Eric Nygaard (
Sr.-Plymouth, Wis.), though, and led 50-44 at halftime.

Garrett Duffin (
Sr.-Princeton, Ill.) totaled 14 points and

The Muskies shot 43.7% from the field, making 31 of 71 shots, and hit just enough from the foul line, converting 25 of 40 (62.5%).
