Ashley Siegel scored a pair of early first half goals to power Edgewood College to a 4-0 victory over the Lakeland University women's soccer team Wednesday night at Taylor Field.
The Eagles hit the Muskies with back-to-back quick strikes in both halves to dampen the final home match for six Lakeland seniors. Edgewood also won a battle for position in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings, improving to 3-5 in conference (5-10-1 overall) while the Muskies dropped to 2-7 in the NACC and 3-11-1 overall.
The Eagles got on the board quickly as Ashley Siegel scored her fourth goal of the season a little over 12 minutes into the game. Just one minute and eight seconds later, Siegel struck in again for her second goal of the match to put Edgewood ahead by two.
The score remained 2-0 until the 88th minute when the Eagles scored goals just 31 seconds apart, first from Olivia De Castro and then from Kristin Palmer.
Haley Rich (
Fr.-West Chicago, Ill.) made 13 saves in goal for Lakeland, which did not register a shot offensively.
Prior to the game, the Muskies honored the team's six seniors:
Asia Danforth (

Rachel Hasko (

Karisa Rowland (

Elizabeth Siebert (
Mount Pulaski, Ill.),
