Michael Bogart scored the go-ahead goal for Concordia University Chicago in the 79th minute that would send the Lakeland University men's soccer team to a 2-1 defeat Saturday afternoon in a driving rain at Taylor Field.
The Muskies again played a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opponent close but lost their fourth straight match, with all four matches coming in conference. Lakeland dropped to 3-9-1 overall and 0-4 in the NACC.
The Muskies had tied the score at 58 minutes, 7 seconds of the match when
Andres Gonzalez (
Fr.-Jamul, Calif.) scored his second of the season with an assist from
Ryoto Kinoshita (
Sr.-Kanagawa, Japan).
Concordia (4-6 overall, 1-3 NACC) scored what proved to be the game-winner just over 20 minutes later when Bogart scored unassisted. The Cougars also had opened the scoring in the first half when German Tinoco scored with 12:51 left in the first half.
Concordia finished with a 13-5 shots advantage for the match, including a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.

So.-Lake Geneva, Wis.) made three saves in goal for Lakeland.
The Muskies are home again Wednesday night when they welcome Marian University for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Taylor Field.
