KOHLER – Ellie Roe (Jr.-Plymouth, Wis.) scored a win at No. 1 singles to provide the highlight for the Lakeland University women's tennis team in an 8-1 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran College Tuesday afternoon at Sports Core.

Roe was a straight sets winner against Amanda Wietrzny in her match, winning 6-4, 6-4. It would be the only win for the Muskies, who dropped to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The Warriors (2-4 overall, 1-3 NACC) won the remaining five singles matches without dropping a set and also won convincingly in doubles. Lakeland's closest miss came at No. 3 singles, where Abby Juozapaitis (Jr.-North Prairie, Wis.) came close to winning the first set but fell to Sandhya Akella 6-4, 6-2.

Roe and Juozapaitis also had the Muskies' best result in doubles, falling to Wietrzny and Akella 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.
