FOND DU LAC – Lakeland University used an efficient attack and quick points on serve to sweep Marian University in three sets Friday night in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women's volleyball matchup.

The Muskies prevailed by a 25-21, 25-17, 25-10 count for their second straight conference win this week. Lakeland also moved back to the .500 mark overall at 8-8 and is 2-1 in the NACC.

Lakeland played from ahead almost the entire match, trailing only once early in the second set. Marian (3-12 overall, 0-3 NACC) also forged a tie on four other occasions, all early in sets.

The Muskies hit .350 for the match with 44 kills and just nine attack errors, including better than .300 in all three sets. Lakeland also added 12 service aces, ten more than the hosts.

Shannon Bishop (Sr.-River Grove, Ill.) finished with 12 kills and just one error, Riley Birr (Fr.-Pulaski, Wis.) finished with eight kills without an error and Megan Goeser (Jr.-Plymouth, Wis.) also added eight kills. Allison Byrne (Sr.-Luxemburg, Wis.) led the serving efforts with four aces and Bishop added three more aces, and in all six different player finished with at least one ace serve.

Sydney Pingitore (So.-Kenosha, Wis.) finished with a match-high 20 digs and Neenah Primas (Jr.-Oostburg, Wis.) totaled 34 assists and topped 2,000 assists for her career.

Sara Komosa led Marian with seven kills and also a team-high 16 digs. The Sabres hit .109 as a team with 27 kills and 15 errors.

Lakeland will take the rest of the weekend off and will be in action net Friday when it hosts Benedictine University at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
