KOHLER, Wis. – Jacob Larson (Jr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) was part of two more wins but the Lakeland University men's tennis team closed its regular season with a 7-2 loss to Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday morning at Sports Core in Kohler.

Despite the loss in their regular season finale, the Muskies still finished in the top four in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and thus will host an NACC Men's Tennis Tournament match for the first time. Lakeland (3-4 overall, 3-3 NACC) is the fourth seed in the tourney and will take on No. 5 seed Wisconsin Lutheran College on Monday starting at 11:30 a.m. at Sports Core. The Muskies will look to defeat the Warriors for the second time this season, having already posted a 6-3 win over WLC on April 10.

Larson finished with Lakeland's lone singles win over MSOE (5-7 overall, 4-2 NACC). He defeated Parker Kuhlman in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to improve to 5-2 in singles play this season.

Larson also was part of the team's doubles win, as he teamed up with Nick Larson (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Kuhlman and Alec Dam. Larson and Larson have been the Muskies' top doubles team on the season, posting a 4-3 record at No. 1 singles.

Lakeland had opportunities for more wins against MSOE but lost a pair of singles matches that went three sets. Nick Larson came back to take the second set at No. 1 singles against Dam, but the Raiders' lead singles player responded in the third set and finished with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win.

Sterling Reilly (Fr.-Medford, Wis.) also was involved in the longest match of the morning, also rallying to win the second set before losing a long third set. Joshua Fay of MSOE outlasted Reilly 6-4, 3-6, 13-11 at No. 5 singles.
