CHICAGO – The Lakeland University women's volleyball team snapped out of a string of alternating wins and losses, winning its second straight match by defeating Illinois Institute of Technology in four sets Saturday in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.
The Muskies defeated the Scarlet Hawks 25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 25-13 to end an eight-game stretch of wins and losses. Lakeland also has its first two-match winning streak of the season after improving to 8-10 overall and 3-3 in the NACC.
The Muskies were the more efficient team on the attack and played mostly error-free, hitting .191 for the match with 46 kills and 15 errors. That was plenty good against an Illinois Tech (3-15 overall, 2-5 NACC) team that struggled to a .059 hitting mark that included 39 kills and 28 errors.
