PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Lakeland University men's volleyball team could never find its footing in the match and Augustana (Ill.) College made quick work of the Muskies in a three-set sweep Friday night at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Vikings dominated in a 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 win in the non-conference match. Augustana won the teams' first meeting since 2018 and defeated Lakeland for the first time while also topping a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference team for the second straight night after defeating Edgewood College a night earlier.

The Muskies (3-5 overall) were off balance much of the night and finished with 21 kills and 20 errors for a .013 hitting percentage. Augustana (4-2 overall) also served 10 aces and never trailed past eight points in any set.

Lakeland received a good share of its offense from Colin Kenney (Jr.-Shorewood, Wis.), especially in the first two sets. Kenney recorded nine of the Muskies' 15 kills over the first two sets and finished with 10 kills, as well as a team-high six digs.

Freshmen Hunter Henson (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Eli Weinrich (Mequon, Wis.) also added four kills each. Martin Carrillo (Sr.-Michoacan, Mexico) finished with 14 assists and Tim Matijevic (Jr.-Palatine, Ill.) added two service aces.

Aidan Bolen led Augustana with 10 kills as the Vikings hit .214 as a team with 31 kills and 16 errors. Matthew Degnan posted 26 assists and three blocks, and both Bolen and Degnan added three aces each.

The Muskies are next in action Sunday for a triangular hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. Lakeland first will take on nationally ranked UC Santa Cruz at 10 a.m. before facing host Wisconsin Lutheran at 2 p.m.
