Lakeland University defensive lineman
Jake Leclaire (
Sr.-Stuart, Fla.) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by the national website Tuesday morning.
Leclaire was named to the website's weekly all-star list honoring the top players nationally across NCAA Division III at each position from the previous week. He received the honor after the Muskies' 49-8 win over Eureka College Friday night in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game.
Leclaire tied for the team lead with five tackles in the game, and his five tackles were all for loss of yardage. Included were a pair of sacks for a loss of 17 yards, and in all his five TFLs were for a loss of 25 yards.
Leclaire played less than three quarters before the starters rested in the blowout win, but still set career single-game highs for TFLs and sacks in a game. His five TFLs are the most for a Lakeland player since Agustin Diaz posted the same number two years ago against Concordia University Chicago Oct. 15, 2022.
Leclaire is tied with linebacker
Charles Kobe (
Sr.-Milwaukee, Wis.) for the team lead with 25 tackles (16 solo, nine assisted), and he leads the team with 8.5 tackles for loss and is tied for the team lead with four sacks. He also ranks tied for second in the NACC in TFLs and along with teammate
Karlis Ozols (
Sr.-Fond du Lac, Wis.) is tied for third in the conference in sacks.
Lakeland (3-2 overall, 3-1 NACC) is idle this week before facing conference-leading Aurora University next Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. at Taylor Field.
