PLYMOUTH, Wis. – 
Alexis Johnson (
Jr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) scored 14 points to lead a big effort from the bench and the Lakeland University women's basketball team blitzed a second straight opponent, defeating Beloit College 82-55 Saturday afternoon at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Muskies forced 35 turnovers and were in control for the final three quarters in their second straight decisive win at home this week. Lakeland led for all but 82 seconds and improved to 2-2 overall while dropping Beloit to 0-4 this year.
The Muskies received 42 points from their reserves, including Johnson making 6 of 7 shots from the field including a pair of three-point attempts. She also added four rebounds and three steals in just 14 minutes of play, as Lakeland was again able to spread playing time around with a big lead for almost the entirety of the second half.
The Muskies took the lead for good midway through the first quarter, finishing the period on a 10-0 run to take a 19-10 lead after 10 minutes. Lakeland eventually led by as many as 32 points in the fourth quarter to join Rockford University and Aurora University as Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference teams to defeat the Buccaneers this season.
Meryam Belbaz (
Sr.-Skokie, Ill.) also added a career-high 11 points off the bench, including three three-pointers. Her three with four seconds left in the first half gave the Muskies a 47-31 lead going into halftime, and she added another three-pointer and then a steal and feed to 
Ariana Vaitkeviciute (
Fr.-Merrionette Park, Ill.) for a layup as Lakeland opened up a 61-35 lead with 5:34 left in the third quarter.
The Muskies held Beloit to 36.0% shooting (18 of 50), and in forcing 35 turnovers posted a 37-16 advantage in points off turnovers. Lakeland also shot well from the field, making 31 of 65 field goals (47.7%), including 9 of 20 from three-point range (45.0%).
A.T. Bartlett (
Jr.-Farmington Hills, Mich.) led the Muskies with 15 points and added a team-high seven rebounds plus four steals. 
Jenna Shea (
So.-Appleton, Wis.) also added 11 points plus four steals and 
Jenna Caterino (
Sr.-Stanton, Mich.) chipped in eight points, six rebounds and three steals.
Hailey Johnson led Beloit with a game-high 16 points plus seven rebounds and three blocked shots. Johanna McNair added eight points plus five steals.
The Muskies go on the road for their next game, traveling to face Lawrence University Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. in Appleton.
