VERNON HILLS, Ill. – Isaak Aune (Fr.-Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) shot one of his best rounds as a collegian and led the Lakeland University men's golf team as it resumed its season at the Forester Spring Invite hosted by Lake Forest College at White Deer Run Golf Course.

Aune carded a round of five-over par 77 to lead the Muskies and tie for 16th individually in a field of 94 golfers. He helped Lakeland post a team score of 335 to tie for 13th of 16 teams competing at the event on the par-72, 6,816-yard White Deer Run course.

Aune's round included scores of 38 over the first nine holes and 39 over the back nine. He shot a pair of birdies, including one on the par-4, 385-yard ninth hole and another on the par-5, 537-yard 14th. Aune's round also included 10 pars and just one score higher than bogey on any hole, and he just missed his previous low round as a Muskie of 76 at the Midwest Region Classic in September.

Brandon Bloechel (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) also finished in the top 30 individually, tying for 30th with a round of 80. Bloechel registered a birdie on the par-4, 366-yard 16th hole and also added 11 pars.

Connor Kramlich (Sr.-Hartland, Wis.) tied for 77th individually with a round of 87 that included a birdie on the par-2, 372-yard second hole. Parker Braun (Fr.-Brillion, Wis.) finished four shots behind him with a 91 that was highlighted by five pars, and Anthony Lueck (Sr.-Howards Lake, Minn.) added a round of 102 that included three pars.

The Muskies compete again on Saturday at the Morningstar Masters hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College at Morningstar Golfers Club in Waukesha. Play begins at 1:30 p.m.
