Lakeland University quarterback Robby Michael (Jr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) nabbed his latest Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference weekly football honor when he was named the conference's offensive player of the week, as announced by the conference Tuesday morning.

Michael received the honor for the third time in his career, this time after leading the Muskies to their first win of the season on Saturday. Lakeland rallied in the final minute for an improbable and record-setting 66-61 shootout victory over Concordia University Chicago in both teams' NACC opener.

Michael completed 17 of 36 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed 18 times for 204 yards and three more scores. He accounted for 539 yards of total offense in all, a number that is the second-most by an NCAA Division III player so far this season.

Michael also was the trigger man on the game-winning play, throwing an 86-yard touchdown pass to Xaviar Thomas (Sr.-Chicago Heights, Ill.) with 34 seconds left to put the Muskies back ahead. Michael finished with touchdown passes of 7, 45, 61 and 86 yards and rushing scores of 9, 17 and 36 yards. The 127 points scored by both teams also set a Lakeland record for points scored in a game.

Through two games this season Michael has completed 32 of 69 passes for 496 yards and four touchdowns. He also has rushed 37 times for 154 yards and three touchdowns, and leads the Muskies in passing and rushing.

After two games on the road and an early week off, Lakeland (1-1 overall) next will face Wisconsin Lutheran College in its long-awaited home opener Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Taylor Field.
