Series history: 36th meeting, MSOE leads 21-14
Milwaukee School of Engineering is one of Lakeland's most-played opponents. MSOE has won the last five meetings, including a 6-0 victory last year at home in Milwaukee. The Raiders have won the last 16 on the field against the Muskies, though their 2018 win was forfeited after later finding an ineligible player was used. The series has been dominated by three winning streaks. The Raiders won the first six meetings, including the first meeting ever Oct. 28, 1995, and then posted a 10-game winning streak prior to the forfeit in 2018. In between, the Muskies won 13 straight, including their last win over MSOE by a 2-1 score Oct. 10, 2007 when Elisa Waltz and Jacqui Drexler scored goals.
Lakeland last time out: Tied Concordia Chicago 1-1 Saturday
The Muskies snapped a three-game losing streak by taking a tie with the Cougars at home on Saturday.
Malaya Sperber scored in the 56th minute, answering a CUC goal just over three minutes earlier, and Lakeland finished with a tie against a Concordia team that entered off to its best start in 10 years. The Muskies had several good chances in both halves, including in the final 12 minutes after a Cougars red card gave the Muskies an advantage the rest of the way.
Ingrid Steinbock made seven saves in goal.
MSOE last time out: Defeated Edgewood 2-1 Saturday
The Raiders won their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener, getting a second half goal to defeat the Eagles at home in Milwaukee. Addison Spilman broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 61st minute assisted on by Maggie Thillman. MSOE finished with the win in a match where it held a substantial advantage in possession and finished with a 19-5 lead in shot attempts and a 10-2 margin in shots on goal. Claire Bradford also added her sixth goal of the season for the Raiders, who finished 20-2-3 last year, 12-1 in the NACC and won the conference tournament to take the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
