PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Milwaukee School of Engineering shot a scorching 70.4% in the second half and 61.4% for the game, a pace the Lakeland University men's basketball team was unable to keep up with in a 93-71 loss Wednesday night at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Muskies led for a good portion of the first half but also were done in by their own cold shooting in dropping to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference at the midpoint of their schedule. MSOE improved to 8-5 overall and is now 4-2 in conference.
The Raiders made 19 of 27 field goals in the second half in outscoring Lakeland 51-33 after halftime. MSOE scored inside, outside and at the free throw line over the final 20 minutes, with 28 points in the paint, 4 of 7 three-point shooting in the half as well as hitting 9 of 10 free throws.

Gage Cornell (
Jr.-Manitowoc, Wis.) hit a three-pointer.
MSOE finally put the game away soon after with a 12-2 run, part of a stretch where the Raiders scored on 11 straight possessions. Mason Dopirak finished the run making three of four free throws, the last giving the guests an 89-69 margin with 2:42 left.
The Muskies got off to a good start and the teams went back and forth a number of times in the first half until MSOE began to take control late in the half.
