The Lakeland University women's soccer team tries again for its first win of the season when it hosts Wisconsin Lutheran College Wednesday night at Taylor Field at 7 p.m.

Series history:Â 40th meeting, Wisconsin Lutheran leads 23-15-1
Wisconsin Lutheran is one of the Muskies' most-played opponents, and the teams' history dates back to their days together in the Lake Michigan Conference. WLC has won eight of the last nine meetings, including a 3-0 win last year on the Warriors' home field in the Milwaukee area. Lakeland did defeat Lutheran in the teams' last meeting at Taylor Field, scoring a 1-0 victory Oct. 4, 2023 as
Mikayla Belasco converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute for the match's lone goal. Prior to that Muskies win, WLC had won eight in a row in the series that dates back to 1995.
Lakeland last time out: Lost to Concordia Chicago 5-0 Saturday
The Cougars scored three times in the first half and added two goals late in defeating the Muskies, who played at home for the first time in nearly three weeks.
Addi Reimer made 11 saves in goal for Lakeland, while
Mikayla Belasco,
Ines Rodriguez,
Ingrid Steinbock and
Alyssa Voigt posted shot attempts. The Muskies dropped to 0-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and were shut out for the fifth straight match.
Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Defeated Benedictine 1-0 Saturday
The Warriors won a closely contested match for their second straight 1-0 victory of the week, after also defeating St. Norbert by the same score last Wednesday. Alaena Zastrow scored the lone goal against the Eagles in the 62nd minute on Saturday, and Kallista Street and
Sam Schroeder combined to make four saves for the shutout. With a 5-2 overall record, WLC is off to its best seven-game start since 2002, when the program posted its last winning season.
