The Lakeland University women's soccer team is home for the final time this season when it welcomes Dominican University for a 4 p.m. kickoff Saturday at John Taylor Memorial Field.

Still with hopes to make the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament, the Muskies look to break another long losing streak against an opponent, aiming for their first win over the Stars since 2006. They'll do so in the second game of a soccer doubleheader Saturday, after the Lakeland and Dominican men's teams face off at 1 p.m.

Series history: 25th meeting, Dominican leads 20-4
The Stars have dominated the series with the Muskies for the last 19 years, winning 19 consecutive matchups dating back to 2006. Dominican won last year's meeting 3-1 at home a year ago this weekend, though that result represented a victory of sorts for Lakeland as it was the Muskies' first goal scored against the Stars since 2010, ending a string of 13 straight shutout losses in the series. The Stars won the last time the teams played at Taylor Field by a 6-0 score Sept. 27, 2023. The Muskies' last win over Dominican was a 2-1 win in double overtime Oct. 21, 2006, as Laura Engel scored 2:41 into the second overtime period for the golden goal.

Lakeland last time out: Lost at MSOE 12-0 Wednesday
The Muskies had a night to forget against the Raiders, as a game against one of the NACC's best teams got away. MSOE scored three times in the first 15 minutes and five goals in the first 25 minutes on the way to a 7-0 halftime lead. The Raiders outshot the Muskies 31-0 and had 10 different players score goals. Ingrid Steinbock made 10 saves in goal for Lakeland. The loss came after the Muskies had defeated Rockford 9-0 last Saturday, as Malaya Sperber scored four goals and added two assists, Taytum Theobald scored three goals and Mikayla Belasco tied a school record for assists in a game with five assists.

Dominican last time out: Lost to Illinois Tech 6-2 Wednesday
The Stars saw their five-game winning streak halted at home by the NACC's top team, as Illinois Tech scored four times in the first half to take control of the match. Presley Coles and Kaylie Reeve scored goals for Dominican, both in the first 6:14 of the second half to cut IIT's lead in half, but Tech scored two more goals late to pull back away.  Gianna Stanek made four saves and Meadow Pratt made three saves in goal for the Stars, who were outshot 24-14 and lost for the first time in conference play since a 1-0 loss at MSOE back on Sept. 16. Dominican has been a regular contender in the NACC under coach Carlos Carrillo, who is in his 14th year at the school and has averaged more than 14 wins a year with five NACC regular season and four NACC tourney titles.
