Hello Visiting Athletic Training Staff and Teams,
We would like to welcome you to Lakeland University for your upcoming athletic events this year. In order to assist you with your visit, we would like to notify you of the following information and services that will be available to you.
Lakeland has two Athletic Training Rooms (ATRs). The original ATR is located on the west side of the Wehr building. Both ATRs will be open at least an hour prior to competition, and we are more than happy to assist you with your necessary treatments that are needed during that time.
The following will be available in both ATRs:
• Ice
• Ice cups
• Hydrocollator
• Electronic Muscle Stimulator
• Ultrasound
• Combo Treatment
• Hot or Cold whirlpools with prior notification. We appreciate an advanced notification if your team will not be traveling with an
On campus Sports/Events
AT Room Available
Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Softball, Baseball, Soccer (if double header, second team will be taken care of at field), Football (Separate area for traveling team)
Off-Campus Sports/Events
All other sports: Cross Country, Golf, Tennis, Track and Field - arrange if treatments are needed.
** If treatments/on-campus AT room access is required, please make arrangements with the head athletic trainer.
Pre- and Post-Event Coverage:
• An Athletic Trainer will be available 1 1/2 hours prior to event start time in the athletic training room
• An Athletic Trainer will be available for 1/2 hour post-event
Sideline Supplies - All Sports:
• An adequate amount of water at each event (e.g., 5-10 gallon coolers that can be refilled)
• An adequate number of disposable cups will be provided for each team
• At least one cooler with ice bags
• Readily available emergency equipment (e.g., crutches, splint tape, AED) on site
Therapeutic Modalities for Visiting Athletic Teams
·Treatments will be limited to the use of ice and moist heat
·Ultrasound and Electrical Stimulation will only be available to visiting teams that provide a note that includes the parameters for all treatments.
·Visiting teams
traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer are requested to call or e-mail the Head Athletic Trainer 24 hours in advance in order to inform us of any special treatment/taping needs. We ask that each traveling team bring a fully stocked
Medical Kit in order to service the visiting athletes
·For your convenience, water, cups, injury ice and biohazard supplies will be provided in your bench area and locker room. If you need additional supplies, please contact us
