The Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium, inside the Todd Wehr Athletic Center, is the home of the Lakeland men's and women's basketball teams and men's and women's volleyball teams. The arena opened in 2005 and is named after legendary former Muskie basketball coach Duane 'Moose' Woltzen and his wife Dona. Woltzen won 536 games coaching the Lakeland men's basketball team and serving as athletic director from 1964-88, and is a member of the Lakeland Athletics Hall of Fame and the NAIA Hall of Fame.
The Woltzen Gymnasium was built for $6.4 million and includes a wood floor and seating for 1,200 spectators, with room for future expansion. There also is room for three full-size practice courts and ample room on the baselines, where the Muskie cheerleaders and mascot Musko perform. The gym was part of an addition to the Wehr Center that also included a 4,400-square foot fitness center, new locker rooms, a classroom and a multi-purpose room.
