Strength & Conditioning

"Muskie Athletic Performance" (M.A.P.) was established in Fall 2022.  It is an athletic development program for Muskie student-athletes seeking to pursue their full potential in their chosen sport(s).  Our Muskies will be trained in a unified, purposeful system, which produces results we are proud of. In that process, the M.A.P. will play a role in the overall preparation of our students for their path to excellence in academics, athletics and in life.

Our philosophy is to "Train Like an Athlete" with common athletic development traits and training principles being applied consistently across multiple sports & multi-sport athletes.  Guided by research based, best practices by the National Strength & Conditioning Association, our Muskie student-athletes will safely & intelligently be trained to move well, be strong, fast & explosive, ultimately to perform well.

Training programs will be developed upon these principles:
Planes of Motion (where sport happens)
Common Athletic Movement Patterns (what happens)
Train bilateral & unilateral exercises within those planes & patterns (to be ready for the what & the where)
