Chris Madison

Chris Madison is in his fifth year as an assistant coach and the pitching coach with the Lakeland baseball program.
 
Madison joined the Muskies staff in November 2018, shortly after Logan Mann was hired as the team’s head coach. He played two years for Mann at NCAA Division III Southern Virginia University, throwing a total of 88 innings with 11 starts and one complete game. Madison notched 58 strikeouts at SVU and ranked among the team’s leaders in appearances, innings pitched and strikeouts both years. Before coming to Southern Virginia, he also played two years at Division III Ferrum College in Virginia, where he appeared in 10 games on the mound, including eight games in his sophomore year where he won twice and carried a 3.63 earned run average.
 
Madison came to the Muskies with coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels. He was an assistant to Mann at Southern Virginia in 2016, serving as the team’s pitching coach. He also was the head varsity coach for the 2018 season at The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Va., and also previously served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Western Albemarle High School.
 
Madison is a native of Crozet, Va., and a graduate of Western Albemarle in Crozet, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Virginia in family and child development in May 2016. He is married to wife C.J., and the couple resides in Kiel.
