2024: Played in 36 games, starting all 36, and batted .328 with 41 hits in 125 at bats… Posted 13 doubles, 20 runs batted in, 34 runs scored and 12 stolen bases… Led team in runs scored and steals and ranked second in batting average and tied for second in hits and doubles… Posted a team-best 22-game streak of consecutive games reaching base starting with the season opener against Suffolk (Mass.) March 9 and going until being snapped in first game of a doubleheader against St. Norbert April 15… Posted season high three hits in a game on five occasions, including the second game of a doubleheader against Curry (Mass.) March 11 when he went 3-for-4 with a career-high four RBIs… Scored career-best four runs while going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three stolen bases in first game of a doubleheader against Carroll April 25… Recipient of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete Award. 

2023: Started all 36 games and batted .333 with 42 hits in 126 at bats… Finished with 12 doubles, one triple, 15 runs batted in, 19 runs scored and 12 stolen bases… Led team in batting average, hits, stolen bases and on-base percentage (.415), tied for team lead in doubles and finished second in RBIs and runs scored… Had 13 multi-hit games highlighted by three hits against St. Norbert in second game of a doubleheader April 14 and again versus Rockford in first game of a doubleheader April 23… Drove in three runs in second game of twinbill against Maranatha Baptist April 11… Recipient of NACC Scholar-Athlete Award and also received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

2022: Played in 11 games, starting seven before season ended early due to injury… Batted .167 with four hits in 24 at bats… Doubled twice, stole one base and scored eight runs… Recipient of NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

2021: In first season with the Muskies played in 32 games, starting all 32, and batted .311 with 41 hits in 132 at bats… Posted eight doubles, three triples, 20 runs batted in, 31 runs scored and ten stolen bases… Led team in at bats, triples and times hit by pitch (10), tied for lead in doubles and finished second in runs scored, tied for second in steals, third in hits and fourth in batting average… Had four three-hit games, including his first in the second game of a season-opening doubleheader against Viterbo March 13… Also drove in three runs on two occasions, first as part of a three-hit game against Edgewood April 11 and again in first game of doubleheader against Concordia (Wis.) May 2… Scored three runs and went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in second game of twinbill against Concordia (Wis.) May 1… Stole three bases in first game against Maranatha Baptist April 29… Recipient of NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

High School: Four-year letter winner on baseball team and also lettered three years in football and one year in basketball… Two-year captain on the baseball team and was named the team’s defensive player of the year all four years… Also named team’s utility player of the year as a freshman… MVP on football team as a sophomore… Twice received academic athlete award for football.
 
Personal: Born Dec. 21, 2001… Son of Randy & Heidi Spens and has two brothers (Kaydon and Brekkan) and one sister (Brynnleigh)… Majoring in sport management and leadership.

Why did you choose Lakeland? The coaches made me feel like I was going to be a part of something big, and academically for the co-op program.
