2025: In his sophomore season became the Muskies’ top hitter and one of the premier hitters in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference… Started all 39 games and batted .387 with 60 hits in 155 at bats, 14 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 36 runs batted in and 19 runs scored… Also walked 15 times and stole one base… Led team in batting average, hits, doubles and RBIs and tied for team lead in home runs… Also finished fifth in NACC in batting average and tied for fifth in the conference in hits and doubles on the way to honorable mention all-conference recognition… Tied career high with four hits and added three RBIs against Fontbonne (Mo.) March 9… Hit a triple and a grand slam on the way to a six-RBI performance against Alfred (N.Y.) March 13… Also was a regular in Lakeland’s pitching rotation, starting nine games and posting a 1-6 record with a 7.19 earned run average… In 41 1/3 innings allowed 61 hits and 48 runs (33 earned) with 31 strikeouts and 20 walks… Finished second on team in games started and strikeouts… Earned the win against Benedictine in the second game of a doubleheader March 28 by throwing 8 2/3 innings, allowing 10 hits and six runs with seven strikeouts… Fanned a career-high eight against Gwynedd Mercy (Pa.) in just four innings March 8.

2024: As a freshman played in 39 games, starting all 39, and batted .277 with 39 hits in 141 at bats… Recorded six doubles, one home run, 20 runs batted in, 20 runs scored and six stolen bases plus 17 walks... Finished tied for third on team in RBIs, fourth in hits and fifth in runs scored… Had team’s longest hitting streak of season of nine games and posted a 14-game streak reaching base... Recorded season-best four hits plus season-high three stolen bases against SUNY Canton March 15… Also pitched in nine games, starting eight, and posted a 1-6 record with a 10.44 earned run average… Threw 39 2/3 innings and allowed 70 hits, 57 runs (46 earned) with 24 strikeouts and 14 walks… Earned first collegiate win in second game of doubleheader against Concordia Chicago April 27… Recipient of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.

High School: Three-year letter winner on baseball team and also lettered two years in football… First team all-Mississippi Valley Conference selection and was a two-time all-state selection… Received team’s sportsmanship award… Honor roll student.

Personal: Son of Jim Gegenfurtner and Heidi Gegenfurtner and has one sister (Megan)… Majoring in business administration.
