Eric Treske is in his sixth year as an assistant with the Lakeland football team and this year will be the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Treske returned to the Lakeland coaching staff in 2015 after previously serving as a graduate assistant for two years. In the past two years, he teamed with former co-coordinator Tyler Wellman to co-author an offense that was one of the most powerful in all of NCAA Division III. In their three years as co-coordinators, the Muskies won a trio of NACC championships and made three consecutive trips to the NCAA Division III playoffs.
In 2017, Lakeland possessed one of the most potent offenses in the country while finishing 8-3 overall and 6-0 in conference, ranking second in Division III in yards/game, fourth in first downs, eighth in scoring offense and also in the top 25 in both passing and rushing offense. The Muskies also led the NACC in eight offensive categories, and quarterback Michael Whitley garnered multiple D-III All-American honors while winning the NACC Offensive Player of the Year award for the third straight year.
In 2016, the Muskies also boasted an offense that included the school’s all-time receiving leader (Kezlow Smith) amd led the conference in rushing touchdowns and yards per passing completion and attempt in a 7-4 season. The year before, the Muskies paced the NACC in scoring, passing yards, passing touchdowns and first downs on their way to an 8-3 overall record and an undefeated conference mark.
Treske coached the Muskies wide receivers as a graduate assistant from 2011-13 and also served as strength and conditioning coach He earned his master's degree in counseling from Lakeland before returning to alma mater Wisconsin Lutheran, where he was an assistant the past two seasons.
At WLC, Treske worked with the wide receivers both years, and also assumed the roles of special teams coordinator and strength & conditioning coordinator. He also also served as a residence counselor at the school.
Treske was a four-year letterwinner (2004-2007) as a wide receiver and return man on the WLC football team. He ranks fourth in school history with 110 receptions and fifth all-time with 1,334 receiving yards. Treske was the Warriors' leading receiver both his junior and senior year, combining for over 1,100 yards and seven touchdowns.
While at WLC, Treske was an all-conference selection and was twice named the Warriors' most inspirational player. He received a bachelor's degree in communication in 2008.
Treske joined the Wisconsin Lutheran coaching staff as an assistant in 2008 before becoming wide receivers coach in 2010 at his alma mater, Cedarburg High School when the Bulldogs were state runners-up. Treske also played two seasons of arena football in the CIFL.
As a high school student-athlete at Cedarburg, Treske was a two-year all-conference performer as a running back and quarterback. He also lettered in basketball and track & field.
Treske resides in Cedarburg with his son, Caiden.
