Recruiting Regions: Oshkosh, Central Wisconsin, Northern Wisconsin, and the Great Plains
Jacob Heinemeyer is in his second year as a graduate assistant with the Lakeland football team and will coach the team’s quarterbacks and wide receivers.
Heinemeyer returned to Lakeland after serving as a volunteer coach at Shiocton High School for the past three years. He also was the offensive coordinator for the Shiocton Middle School football team last year, and recently worked as a security guard after getting his degree in criminal justice from Lakeland in 2010.
Heinemeyer is back at the place where he was a terrific athlete in both football and baseball. He was a four-year letter winner on both teams as a Muskie, distinguishing himself in both sports. Heinemeyer was a two-time all-conference wide receiver in football and was named First Team All-Northern Athletic Conference in 2009, when he led the conference and ranked among the NCAA Division III national leaders in all-purpose yardage. Also a special teams standout, he was twice named Lakeland’s special teams MVP, and as a sophomore he ranked seventh in the country in yards per punt return and was named Second Team All-NAC as a kick returner.
As a baseball player, Heinemeyer was a four-year starter for Lakeland and still ranks third in school history in career hits and stolen bases. He also played basketball for one year at Lakeland and served as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee all four years.
Heinemeyer is a native of Shiocton, Wis., and was a three-sport athlete at Shiocton H.S., where as a quarterback he holds the school’s all-time record for passing yardage.
Heinemeyer is the brother of former Lakeland baseball standout and assistant coach Mitch Heinemeyer, and will be pursuing his master’s degree from Lakeland in counseling. He resides in Sheboygan.
