Josh Schneider is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland football team and will again coach the team’s defensive line.
Schneider joined the coaching staff after a four-year career with the Muskies that included a terrific senior season. As a defensive lineman he finished with 53 tackles, a total that included 17.5 tackles for loss and a team-best 6.5 sacks.
Schneider finished second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in total tackles for loss and ranked 17th nationally in NCAA Division III in TFLs per game, and his efforts resulted in first team all-NACC honors for the year. Schneider also received NACC Defensive Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week honors after his performance Sept. 26 against Carthage, when he finished with 12 tackles and six tackles for loss.
For his career, Schneider finished with 93 total tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. He started only his senior year but saw significant action as part of the team’s defensive line rotation each of his last three years.
Schneider is a native of Green Bay and a graduate of Green Bay East High School.
