Kendrick Burks is in his fifth year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland football team and will again coach the team’s running backs in 2024.
Burks is a Lakeland graduate and was one of the most productive running backs in school history playing for the Muskies from 2011-14. A three-year starter, two-time team captain and workhorse in the backfield, he rushed for 2,346 yards and 22 touchdowns. His rushing yardage total still ranks as sixth-most all-time in school history, and he was a two-time all-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference selection, including a first team pick as a junior.
Burks is a 2015 graduate from Lakeland with a degree in computer science and graphic design. A native of Pontiac, Mich., he has stayed in the Sheboygan area after graduation and currently works at FifthColor marketing agency in Sheboygan Falls. Kendrick is married to the former Brittanie Malwitz, also a Lakeland graduate.
