Mark Edmond

Former Muskies standout Mark Edmond is in his sixth year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland football team in 2024 and will again coach the team’s cornerbacks.

Edmond has plenty of experience with the Muskies football program, having played for the team from 2000-04. He was a three-year starter in the defensive backfield and a member of the 2004 Illini-Badger Football Conference championship team on his way to graduating from Lakeland in 2005 with a degree in non-profit management.

Edmond then played 10 years in the MidStates Football League, a semi-professional league based in Chicago. He earned all-star honors and was part of a league championship team with the Wisconsin Hitmen team based in Milwaukee.

Edmond was born in Gary, Ind., and grew up in Lansing, Mich., where he is a graduate of Everett High School. He has two daughters, Lily and Selah.
