Mark Edmond

Former Muskies standout Mark Edmond is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland football team and will coach the team’s defensive backs.
 
Edmond is in his first year as a coach but has plenty of experience with the Muskies football program, having played for the team from 2000-04. He was a three-year starter in the defensive backfield and a member of the 2004 Illini-Badger Football Conference championship team on his way to graduating from Lakeland in 2005 with a degree in non-profit management.
 
Edmond then played 10 years in the MidStates Football League, a semi-professional league based in Chicago. He earned all-star honors and was part of a league championship team with the Wisconsin Hitmen team based in Milwaukee.
 
Edmond worked in the private sector after his graduation from Lakeland, including with the YMCA in Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Ind., and Rockford, Ill. He returned to Lakeland in Feb. 2018 and current serves as director of residence life and Title IX deputy coordinator.
 
Edmond was born in Gary, Ind., and grew up in Lansing, Mich., where he is a graduate of Everett High School. He has two daughters, Lily and Selah.
