2014: Played in nine games, starting eight… Caught eight passes for 42 yards and one touchdown, recording his first collegiate touchdown catch Oct. 4 against Wisconsin Lutheran.

2013: Played in nine games, participating heavily at the tight end position on offense and also serving as the team’s long snapper on special teams… Made three catches for 40 yards, including career-long 23-yard catch Sept. 7 against Alma (Mich.) College… Also made one tackle on special teams.

2012: Played in all 10 games as a freshman, serving as the team's long snapper.

High School: Was two-year letter winner in football as well as a four-year letter winner in baseball... Team captain and named Second Team All-Central Wisconsin Conference in football as a senior, when his team finished as runner-up at state... Also was a first team all-conference pick in baseball as a senior and honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore and junior.

Personal: Born Dec. 15, 1993... Son of Dean & Tami Van Straten and has two brothers (Trevor and Dylan)... Brother Dylan was starting quarterback on the Lakeland football team for three years from 2011-13.
