2015: Played in 10 games as a freshman defensive back, starting one… Made 19 tackles (15 solo, four assisted)… Posted two tackles for loss for eight yards, including one sack for seven yards… Also intercepted one pass for 17 yards, with his first collegiate pick coming against Carthage Sept. 26… Added three passes broken up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery… Made first collegiate start against Rockford Nov. 7.

High School: Two-year letter winner in both football and track & field… Named all-conference, all-city and was honorable mention all-state in football… Also an all-state athlete in track & field… Member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Born July 1, 1997… Son of Shawn & Carla Byrd and has one sister (Amanda)… Majoring in mathematics.
