Josh Regal

Josh Regal enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Lakeland College men’s basketball team and is in his second year as the team’s graduate assistant.

Regal joined the coaching staff in 2012-13 as a volunteer assistant after a strong four-year career with the Muskies. He was a four-year starting point guard for Lakeland and twice was named Second Team All-Northern Athletics Conference. As a freshman, Regal also was named to the NAC All-Freshman team, and as a senior he helped guide the Muskies to a NAC Tournament championship game appearance and a school record-tying 21 wins. Regal finished his career ranked 12th all-time at Lakeland in career points (1,439) as well as second all-time in career assists (521) and fifth in career 3-pointers made (128).

Regal is a native of Suring, Wis., where he attended Suring High School. He was a four-year letter winner for the Eagles, including three years as a starting guard. He was a three-time First Team All-Marinette-Oconto Conference player and was twice named the conference’s Most Valuable Player. Regal also earned Associated Press Honorable Mention All-State honors and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) First Team Division 4 honors while leading Suring to the WIAA state tournament in consecutive years in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008..

Regal graduated from Lakeland in the spring of 2012, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in sport management.
