Sam Schroeder enters his sixth season as an assistant men’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Lakeland in 2016-17. He also is in his fourth year as the Muskies' head men's golf coach.

Schroeder also attributed in the player development of 13 all-conference and 4 all-freshman team selections, including two All-American selections and two all-region selections, along with the school's all-time leading scorer, NACC Player of the Year and Division III All-Star game selection in 2013.
Off the court, Schroeder developed and initiated the men's basketball program's Leadership, Attitude, and Character Education program (LACE).
