2019-20: Came off the bench in five games as a sophomore, playing a total of 15 minutes… Made one of four field goal attempts and finished with two points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal… In four minutes at MSOE Jan. 4 made his lone field goal attempt, grabbed career-high three rebounds and collected one steal… Recipient of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.

2018-19: Came off the bench in two games, playing a total of two minutes… Did not attempt a shot… Recipient of NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

High School: Four-year letter winner on basketball and football teams and also lettered two years each in baseball and track & field… Captain on basketball team, where he was a three-year starter and three-time all-Skyline Conference performer… Named conference player of the year as a senior, when he was also named first team all-Upper Peninsula… 1,000-point career scorer… Named all-conference and all-U.P. in football and track & field as a junior and senior.
 
Personal: Born Sept. 28, 1999… Son of Steve & Amy Ortman and has one brother (Alex)… Majoring in sport management and leadership.

 
Career ambition/goal: Be a scout for a college or NBA team

Why did you choose Lakeland? I chose Lakeland because of the family atmosphere, how close everyone was to each other, Lakeland had the major I wanted, and it gave me the chance to play college basketball
Something people may not know about you: I’m deaf in both ears and I possess a Cochlear implant on my right ear which allows me to perceive noise
