Ally Lira

Ally Lira is in her first year as a graduate assistant coach with the Lakeland softball team.

Lira joined the coaching staff after four years playing for the Muskies. She was a three-year starting catcher for the team and appeared in 69 games in her career, posting 30 career hits and also from behind the plate throwing out 15 runners trying to steal. Her senior season she threw out eight of 25 runners trying to steal, ranking second in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in percentage of runners thrown out and tied for fifth in total runners caught stealing.

A native of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and a graduate of Schaumburg Conant High School, Lira also was a three-time winner of the NACC Scholar-Athlete Award and completed her degree from Lakeland in exercise science. She is currently working on her master’s from Lakeland in leadership and organizational development.
