Stacey Remington returns to the Lakeland softball coaching staff for the eighth straight season as an assistant with the team.
Remington coaches the Muskie catchers and has led units that have been strong in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in recent years. In 2015, two freshman Muskie softball catchers received all-conference recognition, as Bella Wilkinson was named first team all-NACC as a utility player and fellow freshman Angela Tribuzio was named to the NACC All-Freshman Team and ranked among the conference leaders in home runs.
Remington is actually in her third stint as a coach with Lakeland softball. She was the Muskies' head coach from 1998-2000 and compiled a 57-36 record in three years. She was named Lake Michigan Conference Coach of the Year in 1999, when she led Lakeland to the LMC regular season title. Remington also was an assistant with the team from 2005-07 and returned to assist former head coach Hailey (Dreyer) Cavanagh in the fall of 2012.
Remington was a standout athlete at Lakeland in basketball, softball and cross country and was a member of the 2012 class inducted into the Lakeland College Athletic Hall of Fame. She was an All-Lake Michigan Conference performer in basketball and softball and was named Lakeland's Female Athlete of the Year in 1997. Remington still ranks among the Muskies' basketball all-time leaders in assists and steals.
Remington is a 1997 graduate of Lakeland and took over the softball head coaching position after her graduation. In addition to coaching softball from 1998-2000, she also assisted with the Muskie women's basketball and women's soccer teams.
Remington currently works at Kohler Corporation and resides in Kohler.
