High School: Four-year letter winner on basketball and softball teams and also lettered two years in volleyball… Captain on basketball team as a senior, when she was named team’s MVP and was a second team all-Big East Conference South Division selection… Three-time all-conference selection in softball, including twice named first team and tabbed as Big East South Division Player of the Year as a senior… Two-time second team all-state selection… Honor roll student, member of National Honor Society and treasurer of Future Business Leaders of America.

Personal: Daughter of Chad & Shelly Abler and has two brothers (Bennett and Silas)… Brother Bennett plays soccer at Rockford University… Madelyn also will be a member of the Lakeland softball team… Majoring in elementary education.

Why did you choose Lakeland? I chose Lakeland because of the opportunities that were presented to me academically and athletically, how close it is to home, and how welcoming everyone on campus is.
Something people may not know about you: While playing basketball my junior year of high school, my front tooth was chipped, so now whenever I play basketball, I wear a mouth guard.
