Lakeland University alum Heather Robare is in her second year as head coach of the Muskies women’s soccer program.
Robare took over as head coach in January 2022, and in her first season last fall the Muskies posted a 5-13 record. The five wins were more than the previous two seasons combined and the program’s most wins in a season since 2018. Lakeland also won three of its first four matches, tying for the best start through four games in program history.
Robare is a 2004 graduate of Lakeland who played soccer for the Muskies from 1999-2002. Since then she has gained significant experience coaching at the high school and club levels, including the last 14 years with Lakeshore United FC in Sheboygan.
Robare currently is the Academy and Technical Director for Lakeshore United leading the club's youth development programs. She coaches under-11 (U-11) and U-12 teams with the club. Robare holds her United States Soccer Federation (USSF) C license and also is a coach for U.S. Soccer's Olympic Development Program with Wisconsin's 2007 older girls team.
Robare also coached soccer at Sheboygan South High School for eight years, including four years as head coach, and also coached one year at Sheboygan Lutheran High School. She is a native of Roscoe, Ill., a graduate of Hononegah High School, and played both at the high school and club levels.
Robare received her degree from Lakeland in elementary education, taught for a number of years in the Sheboygan Area School District, and in 2014 completed her master's in educational technology from Concordia University Wisconsin.
