Spencer Sandow is in his first year as a graduate assistant coach with the Lakeland women’s soccer program.
Sandow joins the Muskies after a four-year collegiate playing career. He began his career at NCAA Division II Northwood University in Michigan, scoring one goal in 16 games before going on to Alma College for his final three years. Sandow played for the NCAA Division III Scots and as a forward scored 15 goals over three seasons. As a senior, he led the team in scoring and tied for ninth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in goals on the way to first team all-conference honors. He also was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
Sandow played at Alma while current Lakeland head coach Alex Mattson was an assistant, and Sandow also assisted the Alma soccer program with field maintenance and hosting recruits in his time there. He also was an assistant with the Midland Soccer Club in Midland, Mich., from 2010-16, where his duties included working directly with the Midland Fusion U17 & U18 Green teams.
Sandow is a graduate of Midland High School in Michigan, where he was a three-time all-conference selection and member of a pair of Saginaw Valley Conference championship teams. He completed his degree from Alma in April with a major in business management and a minor in sociology.
