Casey Carr

Casey Carr has returned to coaching at Lakeland University and will assist with the women’s tennis program for the 2019 season.

Carr is the former head coach of the Lakeland men’s and women’s tennis teams, including head women’s tennis coach from 2011-14. In this tenure he coached current head coach Brittany Jurek during one of the program’s most successful years ever, leading the women’s program to an 11-3 record in 2013 and a second-place finish in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on his way to being named NACC Coach of the Year.

Carr also was the head coach of the Lakeland men’s tennis team from 2012-15, and he also has served as an assistant coach with the Muskies men’s and women’s soccer teams in the past. He is a former Lakeland student-athlete in both soccer and tennis, including being a member of the men's soccer team from 1997-99, where he was a Second Team All-Lake Michigan Conference honoree in 1997 and garnered first team all-LMC honors in 1998 and 1999. Carr also served as a team captain from 1997-99.

Carr attended Lakeland from 1996-99 and was a standout on the men’s tennis team from 1996-98. He won the Lake Michigan Conference No. 1 single titles as a junior (1998), losing just one singles match that season. Carr also was part of the LMC's No. 1 doubles champion in 1996 and 1997, and was a three-year team captain on the tennis team.

Carr is a Sheboygan native and a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, where he was a state qualifier in tennis. He is married to the former Elisa Waltz, who also was played soccer and softball at Lakeland, and the couple has two children.
